Lay Teaching Workshop

Defining the teaching role as delivering content to persons in the context of their social community, those gifted in Missional Teaching were challenged with the task of providing missional training to believers from multiple socio-cultural contexts. A great big thanks goes to Central Baptist in Owasso, Oklahoma who is stepping to the plate to make missional multiplication a reality! (April 17, 2011)

Engage Conference - Tulsa 2011

The Engage Conference was an awesome experience as participants investigated a shopping area, a sports complex, a skate park and a biker shop. Before the field experience, participants were exposed to basic missional principles. Armed with an observation guide and sample interview questions, each APEPT team explored the cultural dimensions of the venue. Over lunch the APEPT team completed a "Venue Engagement Questionnaire" designed to evaluate the venue in terms of each of the missional roles: apostolic, prophetic, evangelistic, pastoral and teaching. Feedback sessions highlighted a greater cultural awareness. (April 15-16, 2011).

Teaching Coach Training Challenges Participants

The Teaching Coach Training challenged the participants with the Antiochian model of missional leadership multiplication. Charged with the responsibility to develop and train missional lay leaders, the participants envision their role in multiplying indigenous leaders out of the harvest of the APEPT Missional Response Teams. (April 14-15, 2011).

Missional Prayer Mapping Site Being Developed

Mississippi Baptist Convention Board partners with IICM to develop a prayer mapping website. IICM will be creating thematic maps that highlight spiritual issues in each of the 5 regions of their state for which prayer needs to be made and make them available online as a “Mapping Prayer Guide.” The Missional Prayer Mapping site will house national prayer maps for the United States. Our Missional Partners may have customized sites developed for their own use. (7 April 2011)
