MISSIONAL SUITE PROJECT
Providing a collaborative development set of tools for missional multiplication
The Missional Suite from the Intercultural Institute for Contextual Ministry is designed to provide resources for individuals, teams, church planters, pastors, denominational groups, and mission agencies to identify missional needs in their communities, recruit potential lay missionaries, train missional leaders, and provide missional research, mapping & collaborative opportunities. Both free content and fee-based aspects are integrated into a systemic whole that delivers a contextualized experience in missional ministry.
FREE-CONTENT Missional Suite Projects
The following missional suite projects are provided to the evangelical Christian community free of charge.
MissionalCorps.org: Networking for Missional Roles -- AVAILABLE NOW
Through the Missional Corps, ministry volunteers can find missional opportunities that match their missional gifting, network with similarly gifted people, and form missional teams. Ministry volunteers can post their “Missional Resume” that indicates their APEPT Missionality gifting, any training they have received, and the missional team and/or church to which they belong. Churches, denominational groups, and mission agencies can post mission opportunities that are both tied to the APEPT functions and people groups in specific communities. IICM will populate the Missional Corps database with missional opportunities to minister to significantly unreached lifestyle segments & ethnic groups. Churches and denominational agencies will be able to track the development and implementation of their missional teams. As a “social networking” site, the Missional Corps will provide participants with the opportunity to create their own profile, create blogs, create new groups, create public and private events, etc. Missional Coaches will be able to create their own groups and use the Missional Corps site to further facilitate missional processes.
MissionalCyclopedia.org: Informing Missional Roles -- AVAILABLE NOW
Missionaries need a collaborative capability to not only index their knowledge, but also to “port” that knowledge to others in similar contexts. The Missional Cyclopedia, built on the “wiki” platform, enables missionaries to become better informed as the carry out their missional roles. Individuals, teams, church planters, pastors, denominational groups, and mission agencies may use the Missional Cyclopedia as a developmental tool to facilitate personal and professional growth. Missional Coaches will use the Missional Cyclopedia as a resource in the mentoring of ministry volunteers.
MissionalLibrary.org: Resourcing for Missional Roles -- AVAILABLE NOW
The Missional Library serves the missional suite as the repository for shared media files (photos, video, audio files) and document files (word documents, PDF, PowerPoints) etc. Once files are uploaded to this site they are made available to all missional suite users both within the other sites and for download for them to use in their missional ministries.
Sociologue.org: NeoTribal Cultural Groups -- FUTURE DEVELOPMENT
The Sociologue will be similar to the Ethnologue published by SIL, except that it will contain demographic and segmentation data to identify the presence of ethnic, lifestyle, lifestage, and socio-religious neotribal cultural groups in geographical areas.
FEE-BASED Missional Suite Projects
While some access to the following sites is free, fee-based reports and training are offered.
APEPT.org: Identifying Missional Roles -- AVAILABLE NOW
Since APEPT Missionality is foundational to the entire missional suite, a special website has been established that provides an online APEPT Missionality Survey that enables the Missional Suite participant to identify his or her missional role and how it relates to the other people on a missional team. Some of the results of the APEPT Missionality Survey will be integrated with the Missional Console, the Missional Corps, and the Missional College.
MissionalCoach.org: Mentoring Missional Roles -- AVAILABLE NOW
The Missional Coach training process enables key lay leaders, pastors, and denominational leaders to serve as mentors and facilitators for those who are engaging missional activities. Much of this work will be “offline.” However Missional Coaches will use the missional suite to network with the Missional Corps of lay missionaries, utilize individual, community, and congregational research reports from MissionalContext.org, use extensive mapping at MissionalCulturescape.org, and consult the online Missional Cyclopedia as part of their mentoring process.
MissionalCollege.org: Training for Missional Roles -- FUTURE DEVELOPMENT
The Missional College provides self-study courses that give the latest information regarding missional issues, “how-to” explanations, practical examples, and real solutions to missional challenges. Each course will have practical exercises that relate the underlying theory to real-life situations that missionaries face. Certificate programs will be developed for individuals, church planters, churches, and denominational agencies. Missional research reports will be integrated with some of the courses in order to enable the participant to understand his or her Missional Context. Missional Coaches will work with their ministry volunteers to facilitate their training processes. Everyone who completes the APEPT Missionality Survey will be provided with a list of specific recommended courses based upon the social environment and missional role of the participant.
MissionalContext.org: Research for Missional Roles -- AVAILABLE NOW
Missionaries need to understand the Missional Context of their community, their congregation, and themselves. The MissionalResearch.org website will feature missional research reports based upon a combination of research data and surveys. These reports are customized to a particular missional situation. Missional Coaches may use these reports as they mentor their ministry volunteers. Everyone who completes the APEPT Missionality Survey will be provided with a list of specific recommended research reports based upon their missional role and team involvement.
MissionalCulturescape.org: Mapping for Missional Roles -- VIRGINIA AVAILABLE NOW
Info: www.missionalculturescape.org Mapping: www.missionalculturescape.com
Missionaries need to visualize their missional context in order to better communicate and implement their mission. The MissionalCulturescape.com website provides individuals, teams, church planters, pastors, denominational groups, and mission agencies the visual display of demographic, behavioral, and other research data at various levels of geography. Missional Coaches will use the visual display of data to facilitate the community involvement of their missional teams. Currently more than 200 variables may be mapped on the Virginia site. Other states are available to our Missional Partners.
MissionalPress.org: Publications for Missional Roles -- FUTURE DEVELOPMENT
Missional leaders need access to the knowledge available in published books and materials. The MissionalPress.org site will provide a very select group of recommended resources for missional believers, leaders, and their mentors. The Missional Press will be an imprint of IICM.NET Press.
MissionalZipcode.org: Missional Context by Place -- AVAILABLE NOW
The MissionalZipcode.org site will enable missional believers and leaders to obtain a Missional Zipcode Catalogue that gives a comprehensive overview of a specific lifestyle segment within a specific zipcode of their choice. The user will be presented with a list of the top unreached lifestyle segments in their zipcode. From this list the user will be able to choose a specific segment and purchase a full-color 11X17 brochure that gives information specific to that segment in that zipcode. Users will also be able to order multiple copies and have them shipped directly to them.
